The total import cargos of 76,497 tonnes comprised of 33,912 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,099 tonnes of bulk cargo and 40,486 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 41,370 tonnes comprised of 32,067 tonnes of containerised cargo; 9,153 tonnes of bulk cargo and 150 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 6,476 containers comprising of 2,407 containers import and 4,069 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 879 of 20's and 677 of 40's loaded while 60 of 20's and 57 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 966 of 20's and 249 of 40's loaded containers while 1,171 of 20's and 717 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six three ships namely Hyundai Loyality, AS Paola, Botany Bay, Stolt Maple, Silver Caitriona and Marie Grace carrying containers, oil tanker, mogas and clinkers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were three vessels carrying containers, oil tanker and clinkers respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 116,254 tonnes comprising 97,900 tonnes of import cargo and 18,354 tonnes of export cargo including 2,348 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 97,900 tonnes includes 22,570 tonnes of coal; 38,431 tonnes of LNG; 2,097 tonnes of LPG; 5,444 tonnes of palm oil; 3,000 tonnes of canola and 26,258 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 18,354 tonnes includes 18,354 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,348 containers comprising of 1,382 containers import and 966 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
There were five ships namely MOL Grandeur, Maersk Columbus, Epic Shikoku, Fuwairit and Gion Trader carrying containers, LPG, LNG and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while another ship namely MSC Pina carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, coal, canola, LPG, LNG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as seven vessels viz. AS Paola, BF Ayita, Sea Harvest, Magic Wand, Chemroad Hope, Silver Emily and NCC Maha carrying containers, general cargo, chemical, crude oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were seven ships viz. CMA CGM Titus, Hugo Schulte, As Paola, FB Ayita, Jaguar, Sea Harvest and NCC Maha carrying containers, general cargo, coal, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday. There were two ships namely CMA CGM Titus and Hugo Schulte carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Thursday.
